Cameron Co. Arts Show

Tonight, the Cameron County School District hosted a celebration of the arts at the high school in Emporium.

The annual arts show features artwork by students in 5th through 12th grade from throughout the past year.

There was a wide range of artistic medium including pencil drawings, paintings, three-d sculptures, sewing projects, woodworking projects and much more.

The art teacher says events like this show students creativity and self expression making art classes all the more valuable in schools.

“The arts are very, very important. And not having them in schools is really a shame because there are so many other things and abilities it brings to the kids and helps come out of them,
so we really need the arts.”
