Many of us have encountered unplanned financial hardships during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the same goes for local nonprofits. The Humane Society of Cambria County has gotten creative to safely raise funds. To keep their Pets, Staff and potential Adopters safe, the Cambria County Humane Society will replace one of their biggest annual fundraisers with a virtual one. The Coronavirus Pandemic won’t stop the Humane Society of Cambria County from putting their furry friends first.
With the cancellation of one of their biggest fundraisers, the annual “Claws and Paws Cash Bash,” Executive Director Jessica Vamos got to work. Vamos saying: “We are holding our first ever silent and live auction. This is to replace some of our other fundraisers that we were unfortunately unable to hold this year because of COVID-19.” The Silent Auction begins November 2nd at Noon and will run until November 13th when the Live Auction kicks off at 7pm. Local Businesses provided the prizes. The money raised will keep the lights on at the Shelter, the Animals awaiting to find their forever homes cared for, and offset the costs of unplanned medical care some of their cats need after a breakout of “Feline Panluekopenia.”
