Cambria County Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

A Cambria County man facing Animal Cruelty Charges, after two of his dogs were allegedly found in freezing conditions.

Police in Upper Yoder Township began receiving complaints on Monday about the two dogs that were found living without heat in a home along Venus Avenue.

Yesterday, Police served a search warrant on the house of Dorsey Slagle and took the two dogs into custody.

Officials say that the inside temperature of the house was 26 degrees at the time, and the animals were found without food.

“There was no food, no water, defecation frozen all through the house, which time we took possession of the dogs and then arrested the dog owner Dorsey Slagle.”

Dorsey Slagle’s charges include felonies for aggravated cruelty to animals.

Authorities say one of the dogs is at the Humane Society of Cambria County.

The other dog had to be taken to Fogel’s Dog Training and Boarding in Asheville because it was considered to be dangerous by the courts.

Slagle was arraigned Wednesday Night and is free on unsecured bail.
