State police have announced charges against a Vintondale man for his alleged involvement in a “robbery gone wrong” that led to the death of a Philadelphia-native in January of last year.
According to an arrest affidavit, troopers identified Noah Turous, 19, as the second individual who had attempted to rob a known drug dealer in the city of Johnstown.
Police say the known dealer, later identified as now 29-year-old Dionte Jones, has since been charged for shooting and killing 28-year-old DeShawn Green during the botched robbery attempt at a home along C Street.
Investigators say both Jones and his alleged girlfriend, 24-year-old Janayah Smith, are accused of dumping Green’s body along Mulligan Hill Road in West Wheatfield Township, Indiana County.
Authorities say Jones was arrested in October of 2021, in North Carolina, and charged with shooting and killing Green as he and Turous were fleeing the botched robbery attempt.
Turous was arraigned Wednesday on charges of robbery, burglary and reckless endangerment, according to online court documents.
Court dockets show that he is being house at the Cambria County Prison, on $60,000 bail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 26.
