Bo Bassett Takes Gold

In Budapest, Hungary on Wednesday, History was seized by Bishop McCort’s Bo Bassett. Just 14 years of age, this kid has a bright future ahead of him. The Wrestling Phenom pinned Russian Alikhan Ashinov to capture Gold at the Cadet World Wrestling Championships.

Bassett’s Opponent outscored his opponents 25-3 to get Wednesday’s Championship bout at 45 Kilograms, but it didn’t make a bit of difference to Bo, who secured a pinfall to make himself a World Champ. See video for Footage and Pictures Courtesy of @MatScoutWillie on Twitter.

The raw emotion. Bo’s Father getting in there. His Team, just an unbelievable storybook accomplishment for a talent, still so young. It doesn’t get any better than this — Bassett with the American Flag draped over his shoulders after the Victory.
