Bishop Guilfoyle Football

High school football teams across our region hit the fields today for the first day of heat acclimation practice

Making this the perfect time to start our 2022 previews

And no better way to start then with the reigning State Champions

The Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders won their 4th State Championship in the past 8 years last season

They defeated Redbank Valley 21-14 in the State Title Game

Head Coach Justin Wheeler has been at the helm now for over a decade

Wheeler said last season the marauders only had one returning starter from the 2019 state runners up squad

But this year the numbers have turned, BG has 8 players returning on Offense and 8 on Defense

One of those key pieces returning for Bishop Guilfyole is Quarterback Karson Kiesewetter

Coach Wheeler told us that Kiesewetter had an amazing run in the playoffs

At the beginning of the season Wheeler said Keisewetter would look to the coaches for plays but come playoffs the State Champion QB started telling them what plays he wanted to run

Kiesewetter said he gained that confidence because of the trust he has in his team
