A while back we told you about a program called bible to school being done in the Forest Hills School District. The program started here after a mom heard about it in Lancaster. Since then it’s expanded under the Laurel Highlands program with more schools considering it. Bible to school allows public school children to get a bible lesson during the school week. Under the release time law of 1914 it allows students to leave their school for a certain number of hours every year. It requires parent permission, can’t be done on school property and no taxpayer money is used. So we visited the program with the students from Richland School District at the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church. On a side note – it also happened to be wacky Wednesday for the students at Richland.
