A Bellefonte man has filed a federal lawsuit, claiming a Centre County business and State College borough violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.
In a dispute over his service dog. 70-year-old Christopher Taylor, who’s a disabled, Vietnam War veteran, says he and his support dog, Zeke, weren’t allowed inside the K n B’s Inflatables store, located inside the Nittany Mall, in February.
Taylor says a store employee said the business doesn’t have insurance for dogs, and other patrons could be allergic to the animal.
When a State College police officer was called to the store, Taylor says the officer told him the business has the right to keep him out, and he could be arrested for trespassing.
Taylor is seeking unspecified damages and an order requiring more training on A.D.A. policies.
