Bedford County Car Chase

A burglary turned into a State Police aerial and ground pursuit across Cumberland Valley and Colerain Townships in Bedford County.

The suspect even chose to drive off-road through farm fields to evade police before eventually getting caught.

Residents say they were stunned to see helicopters and a barrage of police cars chasing the suspect.

This is just some of the damage caused when the unidentified driver mowed through farmland just off main road in Colerain Township.

According to a state police report, it all started with a burglary along the 5000 block of Bedford Valley Road, Route 220 North, in Cumberland Valley Township before the suspect led the State Police aviation division and
troopers on a lengthy chase

Witnesses told me he was stopped near this building off main road.

On top of the burglary and pursuit, police documents indicate the man behind the wheel will also answer for agricultural vandalism as a lot of corn was flattened during the pursuit.
