State police in Cambria County say no charges have been filed yet following Monday’s shooting in Barr Township.
Troopers say an altercation between two men, ages 40 and 71, who are known to one another, led to the shooting.
Investigators say the 40-year-old man, who is from Ebensburg, shot the 71-year-old Hastings native.
Police say the 71-year-old was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where he continues to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Troopers say the 40-year-old suspect was taken into custody but following “consultation” with the Cambria County District Attorney’s office, he has since been released.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
