According to the Diocese of Altoona Johnstown, a priest at a Cambria County church has tested positive for COVID-19, and another priest is quarantining, out of caution, after having contact with another individual who also tested positive.
Diocese officials say Rev. Matthew Baum, of Prince of Peace Parish in Northern Cambria, has tested positive for the virus.
Officials say Father Baum did not attend any Masses this weekend and the parish will undergo cleaning.
Additionally, the parish’s turkey dinner event, scheduled for Nov. 8, has been postponed.
The Diocese also announced that Rev. Brian Warchola, pastor of Holy Name Parish in Ebensburg, is currently quarantining after having recent contact with an individual who has tested positive.
Holy Name Parish will also undergo cleaning.
Officials continue to remind all clergy and parishioners to wear masks and practice social distancing.
