Altoona Building Fire

Responders have been on 13th Avenue since about 12:30 this Afternoon, where Chief Adam Free of the Altoona Fire Department says the fire started in a brick building on the 1100 block before spreading to 3 buildings.

Officials tell us battling the blaze was made even more difficult, due to the cold and windy weather today.

Fire crews were still cleaning up at the scene tonight and note that the winter weather creates difficulties for them when responding to fires, due to freezing lines and wind making the fire harder to fight.

No injuries have been reported at this time, but the damage and spread of the fire is significant.
