Music Lovers in Cambria County had the chance to hear some rare Folk Music Sunday afternoon. A program called “10 by 10: A Musical Exploration and Discovery” was held at the Grand Halle on Broad Street in Johnstown, which is an old church-turned Concert and Events space. A Vocalist who is a graduate of Duquesne University preformed songs in different languages for the audience. She says she traveled across Europe to uncover these rare pieces.
Organizers of the program say they hope these events and concerts will contribute to the overall culture of the Johnstown area. One Organizer saying: “She is performing 10 different songs in 10 different languages, all memorized. It’s a cultural celebration, not only for what she discovered, but for many of the people here in Cambria City.”
The Organizers say they are hoping to start more Concert Series in the coming months, as we hopefully exit the Pandemic.
