Those dollars will benefit the Varsity & Junior High Cheerleaders at Forest Hills. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used & new shoes at the 9 following business locations: Forest Hills Elementary School Forest Hills Junior/Senior High School Adams Township Fire/Rescue 82 Forest Hills Veterinary Bella's at Coal Heritage Center, in Windber, PA Flood City Flooring Spinos Family Chiropractic South Fork First United Methodist Church Shear Innocence Stager's Store - Portage All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain & grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity & jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in our shoe drive will be used to feed, clothe & house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school. We are excited about our shoe drive! We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us. By doing so, we raise money for our upcoming cheer season, and we have the chance to help families in developing nation's who need economic opportunities. It's a win-win for everyone.

Hoops for Heavenly Heroes Basketball Event
Dates:Sunday, May 12, 2019
Title:Hoops for Heavenly Heroes Basketball Event
Description:On Sunday, May 12, there will be a Hoops for Heavenly Heroes 3-on-3 Charity Basketball Tournament at Juniata College. We are extremely excited about this event and hope we can get as many kids and adults from as many local communities/counties as possible to participate. Proceeds from the event will be given to two families from Huntingdon. The Huntingdon community and school district, as well as the Juniata College community, lost two very special individuals. Earlier this year, Peter Rubincam, a volunteer volleyball coach at Huntingdon Area Middle School lost a courageous battle with cancer. A few weeks ago, Dave Aurand, a former Huntingdon Area High School basketball player and a graduate of the class of 1977, as well as the equipment manager at Juniata College, passed away unexpectedly. Both of these gentlemen impacted the lives of many community members and athletes/coaches in the Huntingdon School District & Juniata College communities. We would love to do all we can to give a little back to their respective families. Both of these men dedicated endless hours to work with and help many children, young adults, and student-athletes. They both were extremely selfless, caring, and thoughtful individuals who gave of their time and never ever asked for anything in return. This is the time that we are looking to give a little back to them. We also have invited members of Peter and Dave's family to attend this year's event. Let's do all we can to spread the word and to try and get as many people to participate. This day is all for Peter and Dave!
