Description:The Center for the Performing Arts presents Me...Jane: The Dreams and Adventures of Young Jane Goodall at Eisenhower Auditorium on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 4 p.m. This performance is a Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences on Tour production. Me … Jane, based on a Caldecott Honor Book by Patrick McDonnell, is the true story of the young Goodall, who as an adult scientist has spent more than half a century studying the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees. This musical production—adapted by Andy Mitton, Aaron Posner, and McDonnell—shares how Goodall believed in herself, lived her dreams, and made a difference in the world.

Description:Sybarite5, a string quintet that engages the senses and redefines the rules, has been described as “classical music’s most dynamic new music group.” Hear traditional and contemporary music in a casual atmosphere. Each coffeehouse includes a mini-performance, discussions among artists and audience members, and social time with the musicians and others in attendance. Enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages. Seating is limited. Standing room is available when seating is full. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Event will take place in Robb Hall at the Hintz Family Alumni Center University Park students - free; community members - $10 donation suggested

Description:Sybarite5, returning to Penn State after its remarkable State College debut in 2016, is always on the lookout for new tunes and composers speaking with unique and relevant voices. Outliers, the title of the string quintet’s concert program and its 2018 album, celebrates works written for the ensemble by the musicians’ favorite composers and friends they’ve make while traveling the world. Formed at the Aspen Music Festival, the New York City-based quintet features violinists Sami Merdinian and Sarah Whitney, violist Angela Pickett, cellist Laura Metcalf, and bassist Louis Levitt. This event will take place in Schwab Auditorium.
