MUMMENSCHANZ you & me
Dates:Sunday, April 08, 2018
Title:MUMMENSCHANZ you & me
Description:Sunday, April 8, 2018 - 4:00 pm Eisenhower Auditorium Tickets available at cpa.psu.edu or 814-863-0255 MUMMENSCHANZ pioneered a form of visual theatre that has dazzled audiences around the globe for more than forty-five years. By creating a playful yet compelling experience through the inventive use of shadow, light, and creative manipulation of objects, the Swiss-based troupe offers timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a visually stunning spectacle that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination. The company’s new creation, you & me, brings to life the large-scale masks audiences have grown to love, plus a revival of a tradition of acrobatics. The show will feature some of the classic sketches that have stood the test of time, and will focus on the love and mutual joy the audiences and the performers experience. “MUMMENSCHANZ succeeds brilliantly because of its originality, exceptional ingenuity, sense of surprise, and deft satirical touches,” writes a reviewer for the San Francisco Chronicle. “The sound is the audience that laughs, that sighs, that whispers, that makes comments. It’s like a cartoon coming alive in front of you,” says MUMMENSCHANZ founder Floriana Frassetto. “you & me is the intimacy we go into. I give you my idea, and you play with my idea, and you make it your idea.”

Description:Eisenhower Auditorium - Wednesday, April 11, 2018 Tickets available at cpa.psu.edu or 814-863-0255 If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures images of students in blue blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses, think again. The group has emerged as a phenomenon with a massive fan following, numerous national television appearances, and proven success with CD releases. Straight No Chaser is the real deal, the captivating sound of nine unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music that moves people in a fundamental sense—and with a sense of humor.
