Eisenhower Auditorium
“Mr. Bell,” writes a New York Times critic, “doesn’t stand in anyone’s shadow.” The Mr. Bell in question is Joshua Bell, one of the most acclaimed violinists of our time. Bell makes his first Penn State appearance in more than seven years when he performs in recital with pianist.
An exclusive Sony Classical artist, the violinist has recorded more than forty albums in his career as a soloist, a chamber musician, and a conductor. He has earned Grammy, Mercury, Gramophone, and Echo Klassik awards and is the recipient of the Avery Fisher Prize. Since 2011, Bell has been the music director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. He is the only person to hold that post since Sir Neville Marriner created the British orchestra in 1958.
Bell, who has performed for three U.S. presidents, has recorded with artists from various genres, including Chris Botti, Chick Corea, Gloria Estefan, Renée Fleming, Plácido Domingo, Alison Krauss, Jeremy Denk, Steven Isserlis, and Edgar Meyer.
A fourteen-CD set of Bell’s Sony recording highlights is scheduled for release in August.

Susan Boser, candidate for U.S. Congress, PA 15th District, will greet attendees at the Dubois Town Hall on October 13th from 1-3 PM at Penn State Dubois Auditorium, 1 College Place, Dubois. All are welcome!
In addition to explaining her plans to improve the lives of hard-working citizens in Pennsylvania and how she will work across party lines to tackle today’s most pressing problems, Susan is a born listener and is eager to engage her audience in discussions on these topics.
“What Pennsylvania needs in Congress,” Susan said, “is someone who is not a career politician, but who has community activism and problem-solving skills and a fresh approach for overcoming persistent obstacles in Washington.”
Susan’s top priorities include the creation of living-wage jobs in rural areas, access to high-speed internet, agricultural cooperatives and ensuring affordable healthcare, including effective opioid treatments, for individuals and families.
