Title:Beginner Bonsai class
Description:Information on Bonsai with focus on indoor plants to use Discussion of basic design principals. Basic bonsai styles and view examples of each. Indoor plant types to use. Styling your own Ginseng Ficus tree. Indoor Bonsai Care. Bonsai Soil and Fertilizing for your bonsai plant. Care and Maintenance of indoor plants/bonsai. Repotting Bonsai : Learn to “bare-root” repot your bonsai. Hands-On Activity. You will select a bonsai tree style that fits your indoor bonsai plant, prune and wire your bonsai in class and give your plant its first root pruning. Class fee includes: Class lecture, demonstration and hands-on root pruning & training of your own bonsai. A pre-bonsai indoor plant $40 value (Ginseng Ficus) housed in a ceramic bonsai pot. Introduction to Indoor Bonsai handout. Bonsai wire for styling trees. Bonsai soil and fertilizer for repotting and use of tools if needed (can bring your own). Instructors: Guest Instructor Keppy Arnoldsen and Jonas Stryker Class Fee: $50 per person, bring up to two guests for an additional $10/ea (paid at door) Limited to the first 12 students

The Historical Society’s museum store also features books on local history and historic map reproductions. By shopping locally and purchasing our community artisans’ hand-made crafts, you also support a non-profit organization that in turn supports your community through educational programming for adults and children. Enjoy shopping in this festively decorated Victorian ambiance. The $5 admission includes hot cider and desserts. Children 12 & under free. Proceeds benefit Centre County Historical Society.

The Polar Bear Express will operate Rain, Snow, or Shine. Trolleys will depart from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children. Those 2 and under will ride FREE. The museum is located at 430 Meadow Street (PA 994), Rockhill Furnace, PA 17249, which is just west of US 522 in Orbisonia. Description:As a gift to the local area, Friedens Lutheran Church, Route 281 North in Friedens (Somerset County), will be hosting The Allan Scott Band (of the State College area) for a FREE CONCERT on Friday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m. This Christian band provides a high energy performance for people of all ages. There will be limited seating, so call the church office at (814) 445-4627 to reserve your free tickets. A freewill offering will be received to support the Salvation Army’s new ministry “Bridges of Hope,” which is working to end chronic poverty in our area.
