| Martinsburg Library Award Nominations | | Dates: | Wednesday, June 01, 2016 - Monday, June 20, 2016 | Title: | Martinsburg Library Award Nominations | Description: | TIME ARRIVES ONCE AGAIN TO NOMINATE AN INDIVIDUAL AND A COMPANY RESIDING IN THE COVE FOR THE MARTINSBURG COMMUNITY LIBRARY NOVEL SERVICE AWARD.
Nominees with lifelong service bridging literacy, technology, applied education, and cultural divides should also be inspirational leaders and role models for people of all ages.
Selections for the MCL Novel Service Award will be made from community nominations. One outstanding individual and company will join last year’s starting list of distinguished humanitarians, Ritchey’s Diary and Linda K. Smith.
Friends of the Library are similarly encouraged to nominate the 2016 Best Friend of the Year, someone who has given tireless service to MCL. Youth members of the library may submit essays to the award contest about why they love MCL. Submissions are due on or before September 2, 20`16. Both awardees will join the ranks of Susan K. Diethrich and Cullen Lloyd respectively honored last year.
Award presentations will take place at the Taste of the Cove & Silent Auction II on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Weaver Banquet Hall at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park in Martinsburg, Pa.
The auction and raffles present more opportunities to help. Retail and privately owned precious items are needed to make MCL’s auction and raffles special. Gift baskets, gift cards/coupons, new retail products, vacation packages, and unused or gently used home furnishings are popular among event guests. Donors to the event will be listed in the affair’s program booklet.
