Before
joining PEAK Media of Pennsylvania, Frank Quitoni was Regional
Director for Sinclair Communications, Inc. He was responsible for
KDNL (ABC), St. Louis; KOVR (CBS), Sacramento; WFBC (IND),
Greenville; WLOS (ABC), Asheville; WTTV/WTTK (IND), Indianapolis and
KBSI (Fox)/WDKA (UPN), Cape Girardeau. Quitoni also served as Vice
President and General Manager of KDNL, St. Louis.
As Regional Director, Quitoni was responsible for managing the
region to achieve budgeted financial goals, grow revenue share,
increase the viewing audience, serve the interest of the community,
and protect the license through rigid adherence to FCC rules and
regulations. Quitoni is accountable for achieving net revenues of
$72 million and cash flow of $55 million.
In May 1996, Quitoni was VP/Group Head of River City Broadcasting.
Quitoni joined River City Broadcasting in 1994 as VP of Operations
and Engineering. Quitoni had been responsible for the operations and
engineering of all River City Broadcasting Properties, as well as
developing news start-ups in St. Louis and San Antonio and apprising
senior manager of the on-going technical changes in the broadcasting
field.
Quitoni served as the Director of Olympic Operations for CBS Sports
for the 1992 Winter Olympic Games. In this capacity, he prepared and
presented to CBS, Inc., the engineering and operational budgets as
well as revenue projections of the 1992 Winter Olympics in France.
Quitoni also oversaw the engineering, construction, and operations
of the International Broadcast Center in Montiers, France. Quitoni
worked with the French Olympic Organizing committee to determine the
amount of and location of television equipment at all Olympic
venues. His efforts led CBS to one of the most successful Winter
Olympic telecasts in television history. As a result of his efforts,
CBS contracted Quitoni to consult for the 1994 Winter Olympic Games.
Furthermore, Quitoni was awarded the Technical Achievement Emmy for
the 1992 and 1994 Olympic broadcasts.
Prior to his involvement with CBS, Quitoni was the Director of
Engineering and Operations for NEP Super Shooters in Pittsburgh. NEP
is active in both broadcasting and cable television, as well as post
production facilities and television mobile units. Quitoni oversaw
operations of six television mobile units, two field maintenance
facilities, and engineering at WAGM-TV Presque Isle, Maine. During
Quitoni's tenure, NEP realized a $1.2 million revenue in sports and
entertainment.
Quitoni also has served as Central Regional manager for Abekas Video
Systems. Abekas is a leading manufacturer of digital television
production equipment. Here, Quitoni developed more than $2.5 million
in sales and engineering support for an eight-state region.
In 1974 Quitoni joined ABC Television as a program controller for
ABC News. He was responsible for all News Special Events budgets and
oversaw all projections. In 1976 he became Operations Producer of
ABC News Special events where he was responsible for the budget and
production facility for ABC's coverage of the 1976 Presidential
Political Conventions and Elections. In 1977 he was named manager of
the Post Production serving as liaison between the client and
engineering, and coordinating the construction of all post
production facilities at ABC New York. Quitoni then took over tasks
of Engineer-in-Charge of ABC News Coverage of the 1980 and 1984
Political Conventions.
In 1985, Quitoni was promoted to General Manager of Electronic News
gathering for ABC. Here, he was responsible for multi-million dollar
capital and operating budgets, as well as scheduling of equipment
and manpower for ABC's news ENG operating worldwide. He was also in
charge of the major news remotes throughout the world such as the
first live broadcast from Vietnam, the TWA hijacking in Lebanon, and
the Mexican earthquake, to name a few. Quitoni's broadcast career
started in Savannah, GA in 1964. Quitoni received a Bachelor of
Business Administration degree specializing in finance from the
University of Miami where he graduated Cum Laude. He also holds an
Associates Degree in engineering from the RCA Institute.
