After a lengthy State Police investigation Cambria County District Attorney Kelly Callihan ruled three police officers were justified in shooting and killing a Johnstown man. District Attorney Kelly Callihan says she believes the main motive for the event of June 25th happened just days before when Cardell Clinton, Hayward Gaines and Elip Cheatham were involved in an armed robbery. Police say Lawton shot Clinton in the thigh at Edders Den before jumping into a car with Latoya Just. Callihan says an officer in the area heard the shorts and was able to follow Layton and Just Sheridan Street. That is when police say Lawton discarded his weapon before jumping out of the car.
