When a department has a situation like a shooting they often need help from other departments.  Dispatchers from 911 has the ability to put a call out to all county police radios to ask for backup.  If surrounding departments are available to respond, they do.  That is exactly what happened Monday.  The Richland Township Police Department was just one of several police agencies that responded to the scene.
