It has taken twenty-five years but volunteers who have helped clean up the Stonycreek River say the state wide honor makes it all worth it. Those volunteers invested their time to make the river the best in the state. Linda Russell is a Johnstown native. She moved away in 1982 to Michigan before returning back home four and a half years ago. She says she can remember what the river used to look like.
