For those hoping to see some new shopping in the Johnstown Area another developer has come forward ready to try with a shopping center two times the size of the one proposed to the Richland School District.  The McGill Property Group developed Richland Town Centre that houses Walmart and Bestbuy.  They say they have seen the demand for retailers the past couple of years.  The shops at Richland will be between the Giant Eagle on Scalp Avenue and the College Park Plaza on Theatre Drive.  Over 60 acres of Commercially Zoned land the McGill Group has already contracted.  Plans include 12-15 stores, at least 5 restaurants, a fitness club and a warehouse type store.
