Taxes will be going up in the Windber Area School District next year. Today's Somerset Daily American reports the School Board approved a 15.2 million dollar budget Tuesday night. That calls for a 12 percent tax increase. That amounts to 1.94 million dollars. The budget passed by a 7-1 vote. Board Members also approved spending 300 thousand dollars to replace one of it's two coal fired boilers and agreed to raise lunch prices over the next three years.
