The statewide total number of Coronavirus cases in the state stands at 851. Clearfield and Somerset counties each recorded their first case. Officials at Penn Highlands Healthcare in Clearfield say the person who tested positive was not tested at any of their facilities that the test was processed through their system. According to Dr. Sheehan, the Director of Emergency Services at Penn Highlands, the test was confirmed. Though Penn Highlands does provide COVID-19 testing, those tests are limited due to a low supply of collection materials for the test. So far penn highlands has conducted under 100 tests at their facilities and no one has tested positive. They can get test results back within 48 hours instead of the normal 7-9 days and if you are experiencing any symptoms such as a fever or shortness of breath, he recommends that you first call a doctor. "You are able to easily be set up with telemedicine at no cost and if needed, they can refer you if you need criteria for testing or advised that you should go to the emergency dept."
