A Somerset County man and woman are facing child endangerment charges after officers found a baby living in deplorable conditions with drug paraphernalia, police say. Police say 29-year-old Catherine Kabler and 27- year-old Aaron Lenhart are both being charged with endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the Somerset Police Department, officers were called to a home along N. Edgewood Avenue Sunday after reports that the home was unfit for children. Officers were told that children, including a baby, were living in the unfit conditions and in the presence of used and new syringes. When officers arrived at the home, they say they found garbage throughout the home with soiled diapers thrown all over the floors and an odor of pet urine and feces there were also uncapped syringes in the baby's closet. Police say the found that the baby had been exposed to the unfit conditions. Officers found even more syringes in drawers and cupboards and also discovered metal spoons with residue and glass smoking devices, police say. The couple's bail was set at $20,000 and they have a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb 18.
