A Logan Township police officer was cited following a crash Sunday in an unmarked police cruiser. Altoona police said traffic cameras show Officer Barry Fry failed to stop at the 8th Street red light while driving on 6th Avenue. Police said the cruiser T-boned an F-250 pickup truck. Sgt. Matthew Plummer said Fry was responding to a call with his lights and sirens off. He said Fry told police a vehicle was stopped in his lane and the light in the distance was green and he did not see the red light. "We reviewed the video," Plummer explained. "We had a supervisor issue a citation to officer Fry for failing to stop at the steady red light. From my understanding, Officer Fry didn't argue the ticket whatsoever." No one was injured in the crash. Plummer says Fry pleaded guilty and paid the citation in full. He returned to duty Today.
