A family's desperate search for answers, as Police in Pennsylvania launch a kidnapping investigation into a man's disappearance. The family saying they received texts mentioning a ransom in the days since 20 year old Jimmy Mao vanished. Despite her grief, Niki Mao believes her brother is okay. Jimmy Mao was last seen December 29th, in the 5800 block of Angora Terrace in Southwest Philadelphia, where his sister says he lived with his foster parents. About a week later on January 7th, family members started receiving text messages from an unknown number, the person claiming they had taken the 20-year-old. The Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit is now investigating. The Captain says they haven't been able to verify the authenticity of the messages. His sister says they want $15,000 and shared some of the messages with Eyewitness News. The person who allegedly has them says that Jimmy is a bit sick now, adding her brother should go to the hospital for proper care after the money is paid. The Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down Jimmy Mao. Police say Mao is 4'11 and weighs about 100 lbs.
