An elementary school classroom aide is facing charges after police say he was drinking beer during the school day. Richland School District officials announced Thursday that 26-year-old Nicholas Galczynski was immediately fired after admitting to consuming alcohol while in the Richland Elementary School Dec. 16. Police say a school resource officer was made aware of the situation when school officials reported smelling an odor of a malt beverage on Galczynski. They say Galczynski´┐Żs coffee mug had Yuengling in it and was left sitting unsecured in his work station in the classroom. Police say officers found three empty 12-ounce cans of Yuengling in his backpack. School officials say Galczynski was a contracted employee from Ignite Educational Solutions. Galczynski has been charged with recklessly endangering another person.
