A man is behind bars Friday after police say he robbed a person at knifepoint for $12 in Richland Township. According to a criminal complaint, 20-year-old Anthony Hockensmith approached a man on Francis Street Thursday and grabbed his shoulder from behind, saying, Don't turn around, give me your money or I will stab you. Police say Hockensmith demanded the man's wallet, but the man refused, instead giving Hockensmith $12 cash. The man told police that he was afraid for his life and didn't know what would happen if he didn't give up the money. According to the complaint, Hockensmith took the money and then ran through some nearby yards. After police arrived, they received a description of Hockensmith and were able to catch up to him a few blocks away, the complaint says. Police say they took Hockensmith back to the man where he was able to positively identify Hockensmith as the person who robbed him at knifepoint. Hockensmith is being held at the Cambria County Prison, and his bail is set at $30,000. He faces felony robbery and related charges.
