A Johnstown police officer was assaulted Saturday while responding to a vandalism and disturbance call, officials say. Police say officers were dispatched to Von Lunen Road around 11 p.m. after reports that 25-year-old Jaime Madden was breaking the windows of a house and slashing the tires of a car. According to police, officers tried to take Madden into custody, but he began fighting them. Police say Madden kicked one officer in the leg and then jumped on him and pushed him into a parked vehicle. Madden was then restrained by another officer and taken into custody. Madden is facing a slew of charges, including aggravated assault to a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief, disorderly combat and harassment.
