The holiday season is upon us and many parents are running around trying to get all their Christmas shopping done, but not every family has the time nor the financial means to stock those presents under the tree. Which is why Salisbury-Elk Lick School District's staff decided to start their own local toy drive named Cram-a-Van. This is the third year the school district has collected toys to donate. Their first year, they donated to 100 families their second year, they donated to 110 families this year, they're donating to 120 families and over 200 kids. Salisbury-Elk Lick School District's Counselor, Jim Henry, says this is something they would like to see grow and give back to communities beyond Salisbury. "There are many kids here that need help and we can help them just by doing just one little event," Henry continued, "we want to continue helping our kids at school and even different schools." The Salisbury-Elk Lick School District is still accepting monetary and toy donations. They will be stuffing the van at their High School location this Thursday and will also host family-friendly holiday activities throughout the day for anyone interested in stopping by.
