President Trump is responding to criticism that he walked back support for raising the minimum age for some firearm purchases. He says that the States are making the decision. On Sunday the White House laid out proposals including firearms training for qualified school personnel and backing a bipartisan bill to improve background checks. Students are aiming to push for tougher gun laws. National Walkout Day is scheduled for Wednesday. It involves some schools in our area, and school officials are preparing in case students decide to leave the building. Central Cambria School District said students who leave on Wednesday will not be punished. A group of students approached the Principal to ask about how they can protest outside. Other schools we talked to are letting students go to the gym or the auditorium for a moment of silence.
