A former Johnstown Police Officer who stole drugs from the department and overdosed inside the building while on duty was sentenced Today. Officer William Slisz was sentenced to House Arrest and will be on Probation. It was the end of 2016 when this happened, Slisz overdosed in the Johnstown Police Department which led to a massive investigation into how often he may have been stealing drugs and for how long. It came to an end today with an order of nine months of House Arrest and two years of probation on a Burglary charge. Slisz faces another 14 months for an evidence tampering charge. At a hearing in front of a Judge Thursday, Slisz and his mother asked for him to be spared jail time. The judge sentenced him to house arrest. He also has to pay more than $1,000 in fines and $8,000 in restitution to the Johnstown Police Department.
