Punxsutawney Area High School was locked down briefly Thursday after a reported bomb threat. According to high school principal Jeff Long, staff members found graffiti in a boys restroom that read, there a bomb. Long said the message appeared to have been smeared and potentially altered. School administration contacted police and members from Punxsutawney police state police and a sheriff's K-9 unit were called in. A search of the school was done and no evidence was found that the threat was credible. Long said hallways in the school were closed for roughly 40 minutes during the search. "False threats are disruptive to the education program and the community in general." School administrators are asking anyone with information on who may have written the threat to contact Long at his office.
