A Mahaffey woman is facing homicide charges for stabbing her boyfriend with a steak knife in Clearfield County. State police said they found Richard Bennett of Mahaffey, dead early Monday morning outside his home in Bell Township. State police said the incident started as a Domestic dispute. They said Kayce Lee, stabbed Bennett with a steak knife during an argument about their daughter's bedtime. Officials said they got a call from Lee just before 8 p.m. Sunday, saying Bennett never returned home after an argument. Police said Bennett was found dead in the snow about 30 feet from the home on Ridge Road in Bell Township. Lee told police she and Bennett had been drinking Saturday night, but claims he became a different person after waking up around 1 a.m. Sunday. Lee told police Bennett was angry their daughter was still awake and he slapped her so hard her dentures and glasses fell off. Police said Lee told them she grabbed a steak knife to scare Bennett and made a stabbing motion then left to stay with her parents. Police said Lee returned to the home at least three times before contacting them and said she never saw Bennett lying in the snow. Police said there were no injuries on Lee indicating she had been struck. In the courtroom Monday, Lee stated she's had previous felony charges, including burglary and theft. She's in the Clearfield County Jail without bail. Lee faces charges of homicide, aggravated assault simple assault and harassment. Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer/Snyder said an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
