The PIAA District 6 Committee has placed the Bishop McCort Catholic High School athletic program on probation for a period of one year for recruiting. The Crimson Crushers wrestling program has been put on probation for two years. Crumrine said the probation comes with an option of reduction for the cooperation we anticipate from their leadership in remedying our concerns." He added: "This action is the result of actions of a small number of coaches in the area of recruiting." "We had some coaches who were overzealous about trying to promote their program." "We need to do a better job of informing our coaches of the rules and making sure we are in compliance." Fleming said Thursday that a junior high coach, Allen Andrews, had contact with a youth wrestler. He will serve a one-year ban away from the program. The process started when two local District 6 schools brought allegations against Bishop McCort. The probation will have no impact on the athletes.
