A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday for a former contracted school security guard accused of having a sexual relationship with a student. Police said Zachary Taylor was charged with sexual assault and indecent assault in September after a Johnstown Middle School student told authorities she was in a sexual relationship with him. Taylor was a security guard contracted through Black Knight Security Agency in Pittsburgh. During the hearing Wednesday, Children and Youth Services representative Alex Ciotti took the stand. Ciotti said he first met with the victim on May 9th where the initial steps of the investigation began. That's when he said the victim admit the relationship between her and Taylor started as friends and later turned sexual. On May 16th, the victim was taken for a forensic interview with CYS. There officials said the victim said she and Taylor met after school on April 24th and went to a cemetery in the West End of Johnstown. Officials said that the victim said she gave Taylor sexual favors. She also told officials she volunteered those favors. Taylor's public defender asked the judge to dismiss all charges. The judge denied his request. A formal arraignment is scheduled for December 19th.
