Penn State President Eric Barron is urging state lawmakers to pass the universities funding bill. The nearly $230 million earmarked for Penn State is tied up in the state budget stalemate. Yesterday Governor Tom Wolf said he wants to use revenue from the liquor control board to generate badly needed new funding to balance the budget. Today Centre County Commissioners also expressed frustration about this budget deadlock. "We are hoping for a quick resolution. Time is of the essence. There will have to be some action in October. I can't see them kicking it down the road any further." Penn State says the funding situation also threatens their Agricultural Extention Services. That program has offices in all 67 Counties Statewide.
