A petition with more than 60 signatures is circulating on the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown aimed at defunding the student newspaper. The advocate publishes stories about students charged with crime and includes their name, something that papers do. It's funded by a fee all students pay and run by a group of journalism students. It would be up to the student government association to defund the paper. There's concern over the fact that some of the signatures match the names of SGA senators and members of the executive board. The papers' feature editor says they're doing their job. "A paper is about what's going on, good and bad. We can't always just write about what's good". The head of the SGA declined to comment. A meeting has been scheduled with the executive board to discuss the petition.
