Today marked the first day of classes in the middle and high school building for the Windber School District. The building comes after a delay in opening due to construction. The building was meant to be ready at the beginning of the school year but ninth through 12th grade students had to attend classes the last five months at the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center. The superintendent praised the new building saying the facility has a lot to offer. "This is a new era for Windber. It's a great learning environment. A lot of new things, make our spaces innovation labs, stem areas, just a lot of stuff that's fun and comfortable." Open house will be held Sunday February 26.
